Dear NP Colleagues: I recently learned that Dale McCormick will be inducted
into the Maine Women's Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 17, 2006 at the
University of Maine at Augusta. The Induction Ceremony is from 2:00 pm to
4:00 pm. Below is a web link that describes the Hall of Fame.

Back in 1993 Dale McCormick was in the Maine State Senate when she agreed to
sponsor the first advanced practice nursing bill that removed nurse
practitioner practice from delegation by a physician.(This bill did pass but
was vetoed by Governor John McKernan. We later passed what we have in law in
1995.) I know it may be hard to believe now but Dale's wiliness to sponsor
this first legislation was quite courageous. Her support, guidance and
belief in what we were trying to accomplish can not be underestimated in our
ultimate success in achieving what we have now.

If you can please attend the ceremony. RSVP to Sally Ann Parks 453-6004.
For a card or note send to Dale who is now the Director of the:
