[NP-Clinical] Billing incident to

Hi group,

I'm new to the site but already learning so much from all of you. I would like info about billing incident to for any of you with experience in this.

Currently I work for a practice that bills for NP services under their own provider numbers but am going to a practice that wants to bill incident to 100% of the time. I am very concerned about this and how it will affect my practice. I've read the Medicare guidelines for appropriate use of billing incident to. How do you handle patients who present with new problems? Are the Medicare rules for billing incident to the same for commercial payors?
