[NP-Clinical] Single kidney in sibling

Does anyone happen to know if a child is born with a single kidney what the
percentage chance is that the other siblings may have the same genetic
anomaly?  

 

I ask this as our insurance denied payment of a renal ultrasound to my two
older children ages 5 and 3 after their sister was born with a single kidney
and severe reflux requiring surgery at age 10 months old.  The insurance
continues to uphold this was a "screening" ultrasound and not a "high risk"
situation.  

 

I can't seem to find any medical back up to uphold the doctor's suggestion
to test our other two children for a congenital single kidney.
