Props to Christine for posting this peds parent handout library resource a
few weeks ago.  I really like their handouts.  

I know I’ve read the studies for probiotics are promising but too
preliminary yet.  I searched that and came up with a few conflicting
findings but hopefully you’ll find this helpful.

Not easy!  This too shall pass (yes, I know, a subtle link to the first
humor line on Andy’s bowel concoction)  It all comes out in the end.
Reminds me of the old joke:  How is a difficult math problem like severe
impaction?  
Sometimes you just have to work it out with a pencil.  Ewwww, sorry.

Best wishes to your friend and her baby and think the handout will give her
some nice tools, besides the pencil that is!

Fortunately, I do not have any personal experience and very little
professional experience with this topic; however, a friend of mine brought
her 8 week old child in to another clinic today and was given an Rx for
Levsin for colic.  The poor little guy has been miserable for 8 weeks,
although he is growing very well, and his mother has been stressed to the
gills.  Is Levsin something that is commonly given to these very young
infants?  What is the usual dosing?
