I have been a member of this list for several years. I greatly enjoy reading the various viewpoints and clinical insights I get here. This thread about religious posts has been going on for days and though I have been able to remain silent thus far, I am finding myself less able to maintain that today. Like many others, I have a religious affiliation. I don't feel the urge or the need to announce it online or to announce that I am of the same religion as someone else on this list. Though I don't send prayers on this professional list, I don't take offense to others who do. This is still a diversified and free country as far as I know and unless someone does something much more religiously persuasive than post a simple prayer, I don't see the need to verbally spank them in public in the cyber-presence of their peers. I wouldn't characterize that post as "pushing" religion on anyone, but simply as someone innocently trying to give support and encouragement to someone else. It had a title which included the word "prayer" so those of us who might take offense could have easily deleted without reading it. There's my two cents. Do with it what you want.....that is the beauty of free speech in a free country.........Barb, CFNP, CPNP

I am agnostic and find all this religious talk unnecessary and a little insulting.
I thought I would add my two cents since those who were not offended decided to add theirs. I was offended by the religious e-mail. Are my rights not as important as those other people?
I am on this list serve for NP issues only. I don't push my ideas on my patients as well as my peers. I expect the same in return.
Thanks.
