[NP-Clinical] Colonoscopy prep--HUMOR WARNING - Email foundinsubject

Liz-

Did the solution taste like chocolate or was it just an ingredient that they
planned to use in chocolate? Maybe I wouldn't mind drinking a gallon of prep
if it tasted like chocolate milk. The phony lemonade taste of all the other
preps is pretty hard for me to get down-especially a whole liter of it.

Just as an aside; my husband had a "test prep protocol" before his
colonoscopy in Oct. '06. The GI group here was studying a product with an
ingredient that Hershey company had hoped to use in chocolate....turned out
it was a great laxative! The prep involves drinking a solution starting less
than 24 hours ahead, and you eat a limited low residue diet for only 24
hours ahead. Clear liquids after 6 pm. Much easier and worked well, I'll
have to call and see if they're going to adapt it as their "official " prep.
Sorry I can't recall the name of the product....
                                       Liz S.
