Dear Linda,
Please know that I am thinking and praying for you and your husband and
sending healing thoughts and karma your way. Thank you for keeping us
updated. That's one of the things I like best about this list...the fact
that people rally around those in need and the ability to learn from the
personal experiences of our clinician-patients.
Cyber-hugs and best wishes for a speedy recovery,
Diane Dito

Subject: [NP-Clinical] This is my update. . . .
Writing to you from Boca Raton Community Hospital.
As you might remember I was diagnosed with pneumonia last week. My fevers
hovered at 103 for three days before they started to decrease. My mental
status became increasingly altered, staring periods, double vision,
hallucinations, etc.
My supervising doc met us at the hospital Sunday evening, admitted me, and
placed me in isolation.
The pneumonia is resolving so isolation was stopped. MRI found a 1.5 cm
acute hemorrhagic venous angioma in the left frontal lobe with a large
feeder vein. AVM has been ruled out with MRA. I am now in the neuro unit
(haha - I escaped to the library) receiving neuro checks q 4 h and resp tx q
6 h. I am on seizure precautions. One pupil is growing larger than the
other. The dizziness is getting worse and I find myself walking on a slant.
There's talk of starting me on Keprra (anti-seizure med), and transferring
me to a neuro hospital for embolization/coil.
I have no memory of last week. I have short term memory deficit and appear
to be in a fog frequently. My husband visited me yesterday and started
crying b/c he doesn't know what to do.
So. . . . .any well wishes/prayers/thoughts/karma. . . .would be
appreciated.
Please don't blow that last sentence out of proportion. I miss my home, my
dogs, my life, my memory and just want to get better.
Warmest regards,
Linda
