[NP-Clinical] Email lab results

I'm wondering if anyone using email to notify patients that they have normal and/or abnormal lab results. If so, do you have a HIPPA form that you specifically use to cover that purpose? Some folks are using third parties online to ensure that the site is secure - anyone using any of these and if so, which ones?

I'm so bad with these things.......I've been emailing patients for quite some time now in my small practice in NJ, but I'm thinking I should really put my ducks in order for my other practice (larger and less reliable population) in NY. I love communicating with women online because we get right to the point (as oppossed to lengthy phone conversations) and I am also able to provide many wonderful educational links.

Any help would be appreciated!

Pat
