[NP-Clinical] Byetta for weight loss

I do not use Byetta for wt loss or even monotherapy as it is off
label...however I do know that it is being used in those manners by
some...it may have some effect in restoring beta cells (this is
theoretical of course) and so I am not sure what the effect would be on
someone who does not have diabetes! The other drug that I use quite a
bit of is Symlin...works well for sugar control and some wt loss in
overwt type 2's who are on a ton of insulin...their insulin dose gets
lowered right off the bat and it really curbs the appetite.

We have one provider who is and is having good results. Of course
insurance doesn't pay and the patient must sign a waver. Just interested
if anyone else is trying this?
