This is from my MA...She also told me the largest lesion was 1mm and there never were any vesicles, oozing, no increase in number of lesions and they are greater than 25% improved. No fever now and appetite back. I told her that a varicella titer could be done but not necessary and that I do not think he is contagious...Not sure if this was truly chicken pox either....any thoughts?
Cyndy (Adult) NP
Cyndy, I would have called you, but i don't have you phone number at home, and it's just a quick question. Little Isaiah broke out into a rash on friday night. On Sat, i took him to the ER because i thought he might have the chicken pox. He had a low grade fever, 99.3, and decreased appetite, but other than that, he was the same too busy child. They confirmed that he did have the chicken pox, and said that even though he'd been vaccinated, he could still get them, and that it'd take any where from 7 to 14 days for him not to be contagious. Since then, he actually has less of a rash than he did on sat, and they never really itched, and never really spread from his stomach (he had a few on his back, and a couple on his thighs that have since dissappeared). So my question is - should i miss work tomorrow and take him for a same day appt to make sure that's what he in fact had and that he's no longer contagious, or would it be okay to bring him into workwith me in the morning to have him looked at by either you or dr ravin. I don't want to miss work, and at the same time, i don't want to get other people sick. All the other kids are doing fine, so signs of anything, and they all have been vaccinated. I can't imagine that isaiah would have been exposed to anything that they weren't, since they all attend the same school and daycare, and we always go everywhere together. I don't know, what do you think? Hopefully, it's not inappropriate to ask you outside of work hours, I just am trying to not appear irresponsible - either to my kid or work. If you actually need to speak to me about it, my home number is
