Having just finished treatment for a Stage I breast cancer (mammosite
radiation, no chemo, thank God), I'm now having to deal with a non-palpable mass in
the other breast found on MRI in November. Had an U/S done (kind of
backwards order) last month, and got another one of those "gird up your loins"
letters from the radiologist saying I had to have it seen to. Had I not had the
MRI as part of the work-up for the first tumor, I'd still be clueless to its
existence. Fortunately, Amerihealth didn't squawk.
As far as I can see, there will be more MRI's in my future. Don't know
which is worse - the torture of the mammogram, or the MRI. I do know that the
'cradle' you rest in, motionless, for 1/2 hour was not designed by a woman who
ever had to go through it!
