Yep ... you are correct ... may well be MGUS which can be totally benign. He does need to see a hematologist to evaluate for MM, amyloid etc and to watch him over the years as there is a modestly increased chance of him developing MM if he just has MGUS - accent on MODESTLY increased chance. They will do a metastatic skeletal survey as part of the work up and lood for lytic lesions which are most likely not there.
He is likley going to be just fine!

Well, of course I wouldn't say anything to my husband....
I also want to say that I think I over-reacted a bit with more study. It looks like it's probably MGUS and something they'll just be watching. I think I was responding to what I learned yesterday about my other patient. Anyway, we'll get him to the right people and go from there.
