[NP-Clinical] endocrine advice

A local endocrinologist orders somatocedin-C (growth hormone?) tests on all 
patients with diabetes and hypothyroidism.  If low, she has them go to an 
infusion center for growth hormone infusions.

I've done a google search and can't seem to find out alot about this 
practice.  Can any of you endocrine experts help me with this?
