practice group of its type in the region. Holzer Clinic sees over 
400,000 patients annually, with
185,000 being treated at Holzer's 269-bed main campus (Holzer Medical 
Center). To meet the
needs of the community, Holzer Clinic provides a full continuum of 
primary, secondary, and
tertiary services at its eight convenient locations.

In 2002, the need for convenient, comprehensive heart care led to the 
joint venture partnership
between Holzer Medical Center and Holzer Clinic to form the 
Cardiovascular Institute. The
Cardiovascular Institute provides not only diagnostic evaluations, 
but also immediate care to
residents of southeastern Ohio. The institute has state-of-the-art 
technology for cardiology care,
and digital imaging in the institute's cardiac cath lab. 
Interventional procedures include balloon
angioplasty, valve replacement, and open-heart surgery bypass.

The Nurse Practitioner First Assistant will perform, under the 
responsibility of a physician, all
diagnostic, therapeutic, and related tasks, thereby allowing the 
physician(s) to extend services
through more effective use of knowledge and decision-making in order 
to establish a diagnosis
and plan and initiate therapy. He or she will support the 
physician(s) as directed within all
professional, technical, and legal parameters. The successful 
candidate must be a graduate of
an accredited advance practice training program (Physician Assistant 
Certified/Certified Nurse
Practitioner). He or she must also have a current license from the 
Ohio Board of Medicine/Ohio
Nursing Board or from these organizations in West Virginia if applicable.
