Nurse Practitioners
Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics
Kansas City, Missouri

your field. With five board-certified pediatric 
nephrologists, the Children’s Mercy Nephrology
department is the largest and most experienced 
service provider in the region. Due to
increased volume, we currently have two new 
full-time positions available for Nurse
Practitioners.

Dialysis Nurse Practitioner -
This individual will work in the dialysis unit as 
part of a multidisciplinary team to provide
comprehensive care for the pediatric patient with 
chronic renal disease. Primary
responsibilities will include; diagnosing and 
implementing a plan to address medical and
treatment complications, prescribing and 
evaluating pharmacological and therapeutic
treatment regimes, and clinic follow-up. Basic 
nephrology and pediatric experience preferred.

Nephrology Nurse Practitioner –
This individual will work primarily in an 
inpatient acute setting. Primary responsibilities will
include: rounding with the physicians, 
prescribing and evaluating pharmacological and
therapeutic treatment regimes, and discharge 
orders and teaching. They will be a liaison
between the inpatient and clinic staff.
