Psychiatric Clinical Specialist

Responsible to the Psychiatrist for Counseling and Psychological Services
(CAPS) for performing psychiatric evaluations, including medical history
from clients and others; formulating psychiatric diagnoses; developing
treatment plans in collaboration with clients, the supervising
psychiatrist and others as indicated. Order appropriate laboratory and
diagnostic tests, evaluate findings and refer to appropriate specialists
when necessary. Provide training and support for graduate students and
interns from psychology programs, and multidisciplinary staff as assigned.
Under the general supervision of the Psychiatrist, order and monitor
medications for the diagnosed psychiatric conditions. Counsel, educate and
advise clients about their disorders, available treatments, medications
used (including side effects and potential risks and benefits), self-care
and prevention measures, and future implications. Requires Master's degree
or equivalent, plus two years of work-related experience. Licensed CRNP or
RN (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Pennsylvania required.
Psychiatric/Mental Health experience preferred. CAPS is a
multidisciplinary setting that embraces a philosophy respectful of
