St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, 
is a premier center
for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases, 
including cancer and
certain blood, genetic, and immunodeficiency disorders. The 
hospital's mission is to advance
cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases 
through research and

Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a 
Nurse Practitioner or
Physician Assistant (Job Number 12724) for our Anesthesiology department.

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will work under the 
supervision of the attending
anesthesiologist and will work collaboratively as part of a 
multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
The incumbent will provide peri-anesthetic care for patients both in 
the outpatient clinic and
the inpatient setting and address both acute and chronic issues in 
optimizing patients prior
to anesthesia intervention. The candidate will document and evaluate 
patient data; collaborate
in the development and implementation of anesthesia plan; coordinate 
patient care with
ancillary clinical services; make appropriate referrals to consulting 
medical staff; provide
follow up to referring physicians; and may orient or precept students 
and new staff.

Requirements for Nurse Practitioner:
* Master's degree in nursing required.
* Pediatric or oncology experience preferred.
* Advanced Practice Nurse License issued by the Tennessee State Board 
of Nursing is
required.
* Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is 
Tennessee or a
non-Compact Nurse Licensure state OR a current State Board of Nursing 
license in the state
of primary residence if the state is a Compact Nurse Licensure state 
is required.
* Nurse Practitioner Certification by the American Nurses 
Credentialing Center is required.
* Certificate of Fitness by the State of Tennessee - Division of 
Health Related Boards is
required.
* DEA certification by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug 
Enforcement Administration is
required.

Requirements for Physician Assistant:
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
* Pediatric or oncology experience preferred.
* Licensed by the State of TN Board of Medical Examiners to practice 
as a Physician
Assistant is required
* Certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician 
Assistant (NCCPA) is
required
* DEA certification by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug 
Enforcement Administration is
required
