Colorado - Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Position (posted) 02-03-09
================================================================
WILL TRAIN NEW GRADUATES! ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MOVING TO COLORADO? A
hospital system with multiple sites is in need of 1 NNP to work in
the NEW CHILDREN'S
HOSPITAL. The new Children's Hospital has the capacity for 60 beds.
The unit is "the highest
acuity" and considered a Level IIIC. In addition to managing all
patients in the unit, the NNPs
along with the fellows take care of ECMO patients and pre and post op
cardiac patients as
well. All subspecialities are represented. It is an academic center
with residents, interns, and
22 attendings. The goal is to staff 4-5 NNPs per shift-working 12
hour rotating shifts. There is
also opportunity for NNPs to work in the 50 bed Level III unit of a
university hospital if they'd like
to participate in labor and delivery as well as patient care. They
cover 24 and 12 hour shifts at
this location. NNPs can rotate between the 2 units if desired.
Besides the Children's Hospital
and University Hospital there are MULTIPLE COMMUNITY NICU SITES, both
Level IIs and IIIs.
NNPs who are experienced can also choose to work in those units doing
24 hour shifts. The
hospital system offers the opportunity for variety and flexibility.
The NNPs provide patient
management and labor and delivery coverage in those NICUs that have a
delivery service.
Although the schedule varies according to site, most of the NNPS work
24 hour shifts in the
community NICUs although there are 24 hour shifts available.
Experienced MSN NNP
candidates who are NCC certified and who have prescriptive authory or
who have taken the
coursework for prescriptive authority preferred, but NEW GRADUATES
WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Excellent salary and benefit package.
