NURSE PRACTITIONER

The Certified Nurse Practitioner is a member of the primary health
care team who works in collaboration with physicians and other
medical staff to provide comprehensive health care to patients.
The Nurse Practitioner engages in independent decision-making
about health care needs and provides health care services to
individuals. Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories,
performing physical and psychological health assessments,
providing patient and family education and counseling, ensuring
continuity of health care services, and managing acute and
chronic disease conditions. Also participates in clinic/
organizational committees as requested, i.e., MPOC, provider
meetings.

Qualifications: graduate of an accredited school of nursing and
formal Adult/Family Practitioner training program; current
Minnesota RN license; approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board
of Nursing for prescription writing privileges. Must be certified
through ANA or eligible for ANA national exam and meet threshold
criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges. MSN
degree preferred. 3 months to 1 year of nursing experience in
nursing required. 1 to 3 years of nursing experience in specialty
area preferred. Must have demonstrated leadership, teaching,
evaluation and communications skills.
