Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We are currently seeking a Psychiatric NP or Psychiatric CNS with
prescriptive authority to join the Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison
Service (PCLS) full-time. This department provides psychiatric
consultation-liaison services on medical and surgical inpatient units
throughout the system's 6 acute care hospitals in San Antonio. The ideal
candidate will have a strong knowledge base in both psychiatric and
med-surg nursing and in psychopharmacology, will be highly flexibly and
adaptable, will demonstrate clear and organized critical thinking, will
have excellent communication skill and customer service skills, will
demonstrate initiative, autonomy, teamwork, and attention to detail.
The ability to interact well with other providers at all levels of care
throughout the system is a key to success in this position. Driving to
various hospital facilities within the workdays is required, as is a
great deal of walking. Day shifts only, with weekend rotation. No
on-call. Master Degree in P/MH Nursing and Board Certification as a
Psychiatric and Mental Health NP or CNS are required.
