Critical Care APN

Position Description:
As an APN in Seton Medical Center Austin’s 
critical care department, you will identify and develop
protocols and/or guidelines that help establish a 
collaborative practice with physicians and
nurses and assist in data collection for research 
projects. This position is primarily a
performance improvement/quality improvement 
project role and does not involve direct patient
care nor require prescriptive authority. You will 
also participate in multidisciplinary rounds, the
orientation and education of staff and students 
and continuing medical education, to include
specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences.

Position Requirements:
Requires at least 2 years critical care RN 
experience, as well as current Texas RN license and
APN status. Performance improvement/quality 
improvement or organizational development
experience and a strong project management 
background are also required. Must have
exceptional verbal and written communication 
skills, organizational judgement, diplomacy skills
and leadership abilities. The ideal candidate 
will be able to assess the needs of patients in
various age groups with diverse expectations in various healthcare settings.
