Job Summary: Provides medical/nursing care to maximize patient 
comfort and quality of life in
collaboration with the attending physician and Gaston Hospice Medical 
Director. Performs a
variety of complex interventions, interpretations and tasks requiring 
independent knowledge, its
application to a variety of situations, and exercises independent 
judgment. Educates and
supports patients/families/ staff/community regarding palliative 
care. Communicates effectively
and collaborates with others in a professional manner. Excellent 
organizational skills and ability
to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications: Masters Degree in Nursing. Current 
unrestricted license
as a Nurse Practitioner with the North Carolina Board of Medicine and 
the North Carolina Board
of Nursing. Minimum of 2 years experience as Nurse Practitioner 
preferred. Certification in
Hospice and Palliative Care to be achieved within 2 years of employment.

Gaston Hospice is a local, non-profit healthcare organization that 
cares for people who have a
life-limiting illness that is no longer responding to curative 
treatment. Hospice care enables
these patients to live at home as fully as possible. Hospice puts 
both patient and family at the
center of care planning.
