Nationally recognized St Luke's Hospital and Health Network is 
recruiting for an experienced
critical care Nurse Practitioner to join our Rapid Response Team at 
the Allentown campus, a
150-bed community facility. The RRT NP acts autonomously in as a 
clinical leader to manage
rapid response, cardiac arrest and other complex critical events for 
acute hospital inpatients. In
addition, the RRT NP performs invasive procedures and works 
collaboratively with physicians to
manage patient caseloads.

RRT Nurse Practitioners serve as comprehensive direct health care 
providers by functioning
within the scope of their license by performing acts of medical 
diagnosis or prescription of
medical therapeutic or corrective measures in collaboration with a 
physician licensed to practice
medicine.

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the 
major duties and responsibilities
of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed 
description of all the work requirements
that may be inherent in the position.

As of May 1, 2010, St. Luke's will be screening for nicotine as part 
of the pre-hire physical.
Applicants who test positive will not be offered employment. 
Applicants who test positive may
re-apply in six months.

Graduate of AMA Accredited Physician Assistant Program or Certified 
Registered Nurse
Practitioner. Must be certified NCCPA and eligible for Pennsylvania 
license as issued by State
Board of Medical Education and Licensure. Masters degree in Nursing 
preferred. Current Pa.
license or seeking Pa. reciprocity as a registered nurse. Certified 
as a Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred one year of experience. Able to complete skills checklist 
in the delineation of
privileges. Maintains current NRP, PALS, ACLS certification/affirmation.
