Nurse Practitioners – Acute Care

Banner Health, Arizona’s largest health care 
provider, has an opportunity for Acute Care Nurse
Practitioners in Glendale and San Tan Valley, AZ, 
within the Banner Thunderbird and Banner
Ironwood Hospitalist Groups. The Banner 
Hospitalist Groups are a group of physicians,
physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who 
serve the local community. Our highly
qualified health care professionals are dedicated 
to providing excellent care, superior outcomes
and an outstanding patient experience.

The role of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner 
(ACNP) is to provide advanced nursing care in the
acute-care setting to meet the needs of patients 
with complex acute, critical, and chronic health
conditions. Based on educational preparation and 
experience, ACNPs practice with a focus on
a variety of specialty-based populations 
including neonatal, pediatric, neurosurgery,
cardiovascular, and adult. The ACNP practices in 
any setting in which patient care requirements
include complex monitoring and therapies, 
high-intensity nursing intervention, or continuous
nursing vigilance within the range of high-acuity care.

ACNPs for the new Banner Ironwood Medical Center 
in the San Tan Valley will work in
conjunction with the Hospitalist Group and 
nursing staff. This is a night position, working
7pm -7am (one week on, one week off) admitting 
patients and offering eICU support.

ACNPs for Banner Thunderbird Medical Center will 
assist Hospitalists with calls to free them
up to do patient care, as well as handle some 
patient care as well. This is a nights/weekends/
holidays position with varying hours.

Requirements:
* Licensed as a RN and NP certification in 
specialty in AZ along with a Masters degree in
nursing required with a minimum of five years of 
clinical expertise working with the patient
population
* Acute Care Certification is required
* Proficiency in computer applications and 
database management and effective communication
skills while exhibiting a professional demeanor
* Additional related education and/or experience preferred
