*Location:* Providence, RI

The Program Navigator assists in coordinating the planning, direction 
and operation
of the clinical aspects of the Total Joint Program. Manages the ongoing 
analysis,
development and implementation of methods and systems to improve the 
overall
efficiency and effectiveness of the program clinical functions. Oversees 
the day-to-day
management of the Total Joint Center and serves as the liaison to 
coordinated care
throughout the hospital. Oversees and coordinates education programs for 
staff,
physicians and patients as well as community outreach programs Licensed 
to practice
as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Rhode Island. Orthopaedic Nurse 
Practitioner
Certification required.

Minimum three years surgical Nurse Practitioner experience in an inpatient
orthopaedic setting. Experience with patient education, and program 
improvement/
development.

Independent clinical decision making capacity.

Ability to identify needs of staff, patients and Total Joint Center to 
develop and
implement in-house (professional development) and community education 
outreach
programs, workshops, seminars, support services. Ability to communicate 
effectively
(public speaking skills) with diverse audiences including professional 
staff, patients,
community, media, and other service agencies.

Interpersonal skills to allay anxiety, elicit cooperation, and provide 
for education of
patients/families, and to effectively function as a member of the 
healthcare team to
coordinate and discuss patient care activities. Advanced skill in 
assessment of
physical and psychosocial health-illness status of individuals, history 
taking and
physical assessment. Capable of working well across functions and groups 
and to
build effective teams. The ability to deliver business results and 
solutions, keep the
focus on driving patient value, and assume personal ownership and 
accountability.

Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
