Part-time Nurse Practitioner *
The University of Chicago*

The Comer Mobile Unit for the University of Chicago's Department of 
Pediatrics
provides primary care to children, schools and communities for Chicago's 
south
side. The Mobile Unit services over 1,400 school-aged children each year 
to whom
health exams, sports physicals, immunizations, health screening, health 
education,
adolescent medicine - all services that might be necessary for a student 
to meet
State of Illinois Health requirements - are provided. The Mobile Unit 
also evaluates
sick children and teenagers, helps link children who do not have a 
doctor to a
primary healthcare provider, and refers children in need of pediatric 
specialty care
to the University of Chicago's Outpatient clinics.

The Part-time Nurse Practitioner works as a member of the Comer Mobile 
Unit team
and through a collaborative practice agreement provides specialized 
clinical
assessments, evaluations, tests, treatments, therapies, medical 
management and
other direct care to patients under the care of the Comer Mobile Unit.

Qualifications:

Required:
*Advanced degree (or equivalent, if license received prior to July 1, 
2001) from an
accredited school/college of nursing.
*The ability to obtain an Illinois advanced practice nurse (APN) license 
by the start
date.
*A current RN license.
*Certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner.
*At least two years of experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Preferred:
*Minimum of two years clinical experience in related area of specialty.
*Critical care experience. *
