At Huntington Hospital, in Pasadena, CA, it is our focus on the delivery

Currently we have
an excellent full time opportunity for a RN Stroke Coordinator for our 
Neurosciences
Service Line.

Responsibilities include:
* Developing, coordinating, and maintaining the quality of care 
continuum and
evidence-based practice outcomes for stroke patients.
* Coordinating care for neurologic patients through the course of 
treatment, from
the moment of admission of the patient to the emergency room until 
completion of
rehabilitation.
* Collecting data for research and quality programs, including but not 
limited to
Stroke Get with the Guidelines.
* Supervising, coordinating and case managing the activities of patient 
care and/or
support staff to meet the standard of TJC's core stroke measures.
* Establishing direct patient stroke education and initiates get with 
the guidelines
programs. Must have the ability to institute educational opportunities 
for inter-facility
professional staff development.
* Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in
educational programs, reviewing current literature, attending in-service 
meetings,
team meetings and workshops.
* Assisting in the development of new clinical programs/patient flow 
protocols and
any initiatives aimed at attaining and maintaining Primary/Comprehensive 
Stroke
Center designation, and acts as the lead liaison for all surveys.

Candidates must have:
* Masters Degree in Nursing required.
* CNS or NP required.
* Current California RN license.
* American Heart Association BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
* 3-5 years recent experience in the acute neurosciences/critical 
care/neurosciences
nursing.
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
