*NURSE PRACTITIONER*

Washington University School of Medicine, a leader in patient care, medical
education, and research, has a Nurse Practitioner position available in the
Department of Pathology and Immunology. This full time position involves 
the
medical management and oversight of adult apheresis treatment procedures
under the direction of a physician in a collaborative agreement. The ideal
candidate will receive a signing and retention bonus.

*Essential Functions:*
- Performs initial assessment of the patient through physical 
examination and
review of patient history and laboratory data to determine if patient is 
a candidate
for apheresis.

- Writes the consult note, clinical orders, and daily progress notes and 
required
reports and manages those aspects of clinical care necessary for the 
therapeutic
apheresis procedure.

- Provides direct medical oversight of all technical aspects of the 
apheresis
procedure.

- Evaluates procedure reactions or acute changes in patient's condition that
require further evaluation, testing and treatment, including direction 
of potential
aspects of the pheresis procedure.

- Evaluates and analyzes the patient's response to disease processes and
therapeutic interventions and adjustment of plan of care as needed. 
Discusses
and coordinates patient care management with the referring physician.

- Documents all assessment data, orders, interventions, results and 
evaluations
within the patient's medical record, including documentation of 
discontinuation
of treatment.

- Participates in apheresis medical team rounds and clinical 
presentations of
selected patients.

*Position requirements:* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with
current RN licensure in the state of Missouri. Must have completed national
certification exam and obtained nurse practitioner status in the state 
of Missouri.
Prefer at least 2 years experience in a clinical setting.

*Salary Range:* Market driven compensation based upon experience. Signing
and retention bonus.
