*POSITION: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner*

The Bayview Hunters Point Foundation is a multi-resource community based
organization committed to providing quality services, which meet the 
changing needs
of at-risk populations in Bayview Hunters Point and the greater San 
Francisco.

*GENERAL DESCRIPTION*
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides initial psychiatric 
assessments and
writes prescriptions for adult and child clients at our outpatient 
clinic. In addition, will
provide ongoing therapeutic and medication support services to clients 
of the
Bayview Hunters Point Foundation's Integrated Behavioral Health Program, 
as well
as consultation to staff therapists, to promote client well-being. The 
PNP also
provides consultation, as needed, to other treatment entities involved 
in the care of
clients, to promote continuity of care. The PNP would also have a 
passion for
working in the community behavioral health system of care, and have a 
strong drive
to work independently as well as being a team player.

*EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:*
* Direct client medication support, related services and knowledge of 
Medi-Cal
requirements for documentation
* Participation in Team Meetings and direct consultation with team 
members to
optimize coordination of care
* Ability to be comfortable in providing psychotropic medication by IM 
Injectable is a
plus
* Experience with assessing and treating dually-diagnosed clients 
(mental illness
and substance abuse
* Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
* Knowledge of or prior training with AVATAR (ERS)
* Knowledge of or prior training with Info Scriber (EPS)
* Assists staff in the assessment process and providing input into the 
development
of treatment plans
* Ability to work as part of a team, to prioritize and handle multiple 
tasks and work
independently in an ever changing environment
* Ability to work with clients and program staff from diverse cultural 
and social class
backgrounds

*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Valid RN license in State of California
* Master's Degree as Adult and/or Child Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
* Furnishing number and DEA number
* Two years treating target population

Part-time - .50% FTE: Salary: $40,000 - $42,000 annually, plus: medical, 
dental & life
