*Pacific Lutheran University* seeks a part-time Nurse Practitioner to 
provide health
care and health education to all students at the Student Health Center. 
This position
is temporary through approximately May 31, 2014.

_Essential functions and responsibilities:_
* Provide outpatient evaluation and treatment for injuries and illnesses.
* Perform physical examinations as needed to evaluate student's 
participation in
sports, appropriateness for study abroad, birth control, or routine 
health screening.
* Provide preventative health care including birth control counseling, 
physical exams,
pelvic exams, and pap smears.
* Present health education information and counseling with each visit to 
increase
student's knowledge of illness, treatment, and prevention.
* Provide travel counseling/medications/vaccinations for students/staff 
traveling
internationally.
* Make referrals as needed to community resources and specialty medical 
care.

_Required qualifications include:_
1. Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
2. Licensure and prescriptive authority in Washington State.
3. BLS certification.
