*Nurse Practitioner for Neurodevelopmental Service*

Pediatric or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner wanted to join unique 
service that combines General
Pediatrics, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and Neurodevelopmental 
Disabilities with
integrative thinking, for the care of children with developmental and 
behavioral disorders. The
practice has an emphasis on caring for children with autism spectrum 
disorders. Nurse
practitioners with interests and/or experience in one or more of the 
above areas or Pediatric
Neurology are invited to apply for this full time position at The 
Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh,
Pa., one of the freestanding children’s rehabilitation hospitals in the 
United States. The nurse
practitioner who joins us will be able to create a position that 
respects his or her clinical and
research interests, while participating in caring for children with 
complex developmental needs.
The nurse practitioner will work with a pediatrician as a team in the 
practice. This practice has
a subspecialty nature and does not do primary care, but longstanding 
relationships are formed
with our patients and their families. The Children’s Institute has a 
research department and
coordinator along with its own Institutional Review Board, and creation 
of research projects is
strongly encouraged but not required. The Children’s Institute has an 
Institutional Advancement
team that is experienced in supporting the obtainment of clinical and 
research grants. Over 1.5
million dollars of funding for research and clinical projects has been 
obtained by the service
over the past several years, from federal and private sources.
