Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery
Nurse Practitioner

The Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery is comprised of 
physicians and scientists
from a variety of disciplines focused on the treatment of lung disease 
including pulmonary
and critical care medicine, thoracic surgery, sleep medicine, clinical 
and scientific research
and medical education.

Our multi-disciplinary approach provides cutting edge therapies and 
novel research and
educational activities that span the continuum of care for patients with 
lung disease including
prevention, early diagnosis, acute and chronic clinical care, lung 
transplantation, home care
and long term acute care.

We have immediate openings for Nurse Practitioners to become a member of 
our team,
working with the adult population, to provide superb patient care in the 
treatment of respiratory
diseases.   We have remained at the forefront of our field in the 
Tri-State area for more than
25 years, and we are looking for trained leaders to maximize our current 
strengths and build
upon them to extend our capabilities to develop the premier East Coast 
Academic Center for
the care of lung diseases and critical medical illnesses.

Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing with at least three years of academic or 
hospital based Pulmonary,
Thoracic Surgery or critical care experience, and certification as a 
Certified Nurse Practitioner
by the Pennsylvania Board of Medical Education and Licensure. Must have 
current ACLS
certification.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Experience with both invasive and non-invasive ventilation techniques 
including both positive
pressure and negative pressure ventilation along with the ability to 
teach patients, family, and
staff in the use of ventilation modalities.
