*Job Summary:* The Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of 
physician(s) or
surgeon(s) and is responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and 
preventative
healthcare services, following all state regulations related to job duties.

*Summary of Accountabilities:*
1) Take medical histories
2) Examine and treat patients
3) Order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays and make diagnoses
4) Assist and/or carry out minor diagnostic tests and/or procedures
5) Triage and prioritize referrals
6) Record progress notes; review and correct dictations
7) Instruct and counsel patients and order and carry out therapy
8) Provide preoperative and postoperative care
9) Perform minor bedside procedures, i.e. suture removal and debridement 
of wounds.
10) Any other duties as requested by the Physician (within state 
regulations)

*Minimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses Required:* CDS, DEA, 
NJ License, CRNP

*Minimum Degree Required and Experience Required:*
1) Masters Degree, and national board certification as a nurse practitioner
2) 2 years of experience in the field or related field
3) Familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures related to wound 
care and surgery patients.
4) Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
5) Strong listening and verbal skills
6) Ability to work as a “team” with physician(s), nurses, technologists, 
Medical Assistants
7) Experience in Long-term care and/or rehab facilities would be a plus
8) Consistent communication with physician(s) with any patient 
issues/concerns
9) Basic computer skills
10) An inquiring mind open to independent thinking
11) Ability to learn new skills and innovative technology
12) Interest in completing course work for Certified Wound Specialist(CWS)
