The Chicago office of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) has an 
exciting opportunity for an individual to join our development team as 
Manager of Development for our signature campaign; Step Out: Walk to 
Stop Diabetes.

This is a team development and fundraising position with primary focus 
on revenue generation and acquisition of participants. Candidates must 
have a proven track record of planning and executing cost effective team 
related fundraising campaigns that have raised six figures or more. 
Candidates must have extensive experience working with volunteers and 
corporate decision makers. The candidate must also be able to manage 
multiple projects, while excelling in relationship building, 
stewardship, and communicating well with a large range of constituents.

The ideal candidate is a team player who is results oriented, with 
experience in working with and through groups to achieve desired 
outcomes. Excellent planning, organizational and follow-up skills are 
required. Must know how to close the deal, confirm mutual understandings 
and manage volunteer participation to successful outcomes. Must be 
self-motivated, detail oriented and be able to clearly communicate with 
staff, sponsors, donors, and volunteers.

This position will report to the Associate Director of Special Events & 
Fundraising, and is based in our office located in downtown Chicago.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

**

* Bachelor's degree required

* 3+ years of successful fundraising experience required

* Applicant should enjoy working in the field with face to face interactions

* Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously 
in a fast-paced environment

* Must have excellent interpersonal, facilitation and/or presentation 
and communication skills

* Familiarity with financial reports and analysis

* Expert level proficiency with MS Office

* Access to a car as local travel is required

* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
