*Department of Radiation Oncology
Nurse Practitioner; Part Time*

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland is 
recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner at our Columbia Maryland office on 
the campus of Howard County General Hospital. In order to provide the 
best care the selected candidate with work with the physician and onsite 
clinical care team to administer quality patient care to include, 
ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests for the patient 
population, recording physical findings, formulating plans and 
prognosis, prescribing or recommending medications or other forms of 
treatment in conjunction with the radiation oncologist, discussing cases 
on and offsite, with the departmental teams via telemedicine as well as 
multidisciplinary clinics or tumor board meetings, providing patient 
education and outreach, facilitating clinical research, and working with 
department leadership for optimization of clinical processes and workflow.

The position will have a planned Wednesday/ Thursday/ Friday schedule. 
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree with completion of a 
Nurse Practitioner program, hold a current Maryland RN license / 
eligibility to obtain licensure, and 3-5 years of experience in an 
oncology setting.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland has 
its’ main patient care facility at the University of Maryland Medical 
Center in downtown Baltimore and has 4 well-integrated community 
programs, as well as a busy proton therapy center, with Nurse 
Practitioners present/ expected at every location. All centers are 
connected by a telemedicine network facilitating frequent interactions 
between facilities.
