*ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER ACUTE CARE/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT *

The Heart Center at University Children’s Health and the Department of 
Pediatrics of UT Health San Antonio, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School 
of Medicine, are recruiting an advanced nurse practitioner acute care or 
physician assistant to join the Division of Critical Care in Pediatrics. 
The candidate must be eligible or currently licensed as a Physician 
Assistant or Registered Nurse in Texas and credentialed by the State to 
practice as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Acute Care. Prescriptive 
authority is recommended.

The candidate will join a group of 6 pediatric critical care physicians, 
2 congenital heart surgeons, 5 pediatric cardiologists, 6 advanced nurse 
practitioners/physician assistants and 3 fellows. The provider will 
assist the pediatric intensivist in providing clinical evaluation, 
monitoring and management of patients in the Pediatric Congenital 
Cardiac Unit. Clinical tasks will include rounding on each patient, 
formulating and implementation of daily plan, family education, and 
critical care procedures. The Heart Center at University Hospital serves 
as a major provider of Pediatric Congenital Cardiac Care to the 
population of San Antonio as well as South and West Texas.

All faculty appointments are designated as security sensitive positions.
