Dartmouth Health announces a national search for the system’s Chief
Advanced Practice Provider Officer.
*Dartmouth Health* is a non-profit academic health system primarily

Dartmouth Health’s flagship hospital Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center
(DHMC) in Lebanon, New Hampshire and a multispecialty physician group

Advanced Practice Providers throughout New Hampshire and Vermont, with
major community practice locations in Lebanon, Concord, Keene,
Manchester, and Nashua, New Hampshire and Bennington, Vermont as well as
through a network of smaller practice sites at over 24 locations
throughout the region; *Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital* (Lebanon, NH),
*Cheshire Medical Center* (Keene, NH), *Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health
Center* (Windsor, VT), *New London Hospital* (New London, NH) and the
*Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire* (based in
White River Junction, VT, offering 51 ACGME-accredited medical education
training programs to nearly 450 graduate medical education residents and
fellows annually, and 6 APP fellowship programs. DHMC serves as the
teaching hospital for the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, the
School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Colby-Sawyer College and
numerous other college and university health profession programs across
New Hampshire and Vermont. Led by CEO and President Joanne M. Conroy,
MD, the leadership team is invested in an era of transformation and

The system’s next Chief Advanced Practice Provider Officer is
responsible for providing system-wide leadership for all Advanced
Practice Providers (APP) including Physician Assistants (PA) and
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) including: Nurse
Practitioners; Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM); and Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA). This includes, the oversight, direction and
development of APP practice that serves to advance the strategic plan of
Dartmouth Health and working collaboratively with other senior leaders
to promote the highest levels of patient care, service and quality of
APRNs and PAs.
This role is responsible for ensuring the appropriate utilization of
APP’s including compliance with State of New Hampshire and Vermont
Statutes, Federal regulations and any other regulatory bodies impacting
the APP practice. Support and facilitate the integration and
collaboration of services among health care professionals, focused on
optimal patient care outcomes, ensuring APP practice to full extent of
scope, continuing professional development, and a work environment
conducive to excellence and cost effectiveness. Works in collaboration
with Dartmouth Health system members to ensure APP strategies are aligned.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader of Advanced
Practice Providers in the areas of clinical care, research and
education, practice management, teaching, and mentoring of colleagues.

*Qualifications*
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) OR an Advanced
Practice Nurse Practitioner (APRN) program
* Master’s degree required; Doctoral degree desirable
* Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience as a PA or APRN
* Minimum of 5 years of supervisory leadership experience including:
personnel management, budget and finance, strategic planning, and
project implementation
* Must have the ability to work on matters of high sensitivity and
confidentiality with diplomacy and discretion.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and supervisory skills
are required.
* Continuous quality improvement knowledge and experience
* Affiliation with the professional organization is a strong recommendation
