It is a circumstance that I simply couldn't put up with any more either.  I 
worked primary care as an NP for 14 years, been in nursing my full adult 
working life, was paid peanuts which I sadly accepted until I got to the point where 
I realized it would never get better in my situation, partly due to personal 
issues like serious illness, but literally couldn't do it any more.  Working 
invisably like slave labor to line administrative pockets?  Never again.  Fool 
me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.  When the time comes again I 
would rather volunteer and give it away.  It is a sure way of keeping nurses 
down to treat them like dirt, and pay them the same.
