Diane,
There are some long term facilities that have Alzheimer wings which serve
as
better environments than traditional long term care settings. Dale is the
medical director of a nursing facility with such a wing. He says that it
is a
locked facility where patients can be physically active in a protected
environment and can spend time with "like" residents. His experience is
that
people with similar memory/behavioral issues tend to tolerate each other
better,
as compared to residents without similar issues.
