>From what is sounds like, Lynda was told by the doctor that she "could not afford her any more" that sounds like a layoff not a firing, most layoffs are due to downsizing, or for financial reasons. I did not hear her say she was "fired" for being an undesirable employee. So I think she can put "laid off" on the unemployment forms. When Take Care left Oregon, and gave us all 2 weeks notice, it was the same thing. We were "laid off".. I dont think it is about getting her job back..Who would want that job, it is the principle. But I think if she was "fired", then she needs to go to an attorney as that would be firing her for her disability probably. Which is illegal if she was doing her job well. If she was "laid off" (and this doctor does not sound like she had her language clear) then she can get unemployment, and try to get severence if she can, but there may be no recourse for this. It is not clear, as how can you not afford someone working 1/2 day a week, when you
previously could afford her full time 5 weeks earlier? So the doctor would have to prove her case regardless. Carla

She needs to check with HER state-- and
an attorney if she wants to fight this firing. Although, again, I think
Lynda needs to analyze what her goals are here-- getting her job back,
financial compensation, etc.
Agreed, Dena.
