Well, good luck-- nurses with PhDs, DNScs, and DNPs haven't been able to be
more independent-fully autonomous clinicians with their doctoral degrees.

A step but only the first in the right direction. They should be able to
advance to something new upon graduation. ³Medical Care Practitioner², new
more independent-fully autonomous clinician. Anyway, that¹s a debate for
another day. As I said a step in the right diirection.

Baylor regents also approved the doctor of science physician assistant
(DScPA) emergency medicine residency, a new joint U.S. Army/Baylor degree to
be completed at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San
Antonio. The new doctoral program will provide Army physician assistants
with an opportunity to develop advanced competencies in emergency medicine,
while they participate in evidence-based clinical management of critical
illnesses and injuries.
