That is a great letter Priscilla. I placed my father on Spiriva as well, and I wonder, like the Writers Guild strike, what the impact would be if the Pharmaceutical companies suddenly did not have any NPs or PAs in offices attending dinners, using their products or writing Rxs for them? I think it would be a huge impact. Not that we would do that, but I do not think they realize what a force we are in the healthcare arena. Carla

your website says healthcare professional but your direct to consumer TV ad
specifies doctor only. This saddens me. I went to one of the first
informational dinners on Spiriva. As usual, the audience was mostly NP's, a
few PA's and no doctors. I got my father on Spiriva after educating HIS
DOCTOR about it. He fought me for awhile but after I sent him info, he got
dad on it and it's really helped his COPD. Hes told HIS doctor that his
nurse practitioner daughter who stays on top of latest info got him on it.
We are so very tired of being ignored in your ads. I strongly encourage you
to check www.amcollege.org to educate yourselves on provider neutral
language as we are prescribers and many patients choose to see us and NOT
their doctor. We have proven to be just as effective so please acknowledge
our role and "get with the times".
Thanks so much for hearing me out. I look forward to your response.
