Good job Dave!

One point that I made with my visits to the pharm reps at NPACE St. Louis was that FDA did not require this language. I discussed the need to use neutral language in ALL patient education materials, websites and DTC advertising.

The only exception that I could think of would be the language in the package inserts/prescribers info IF that was the language that had been submitted to the FDA for approval and then could not be changed. BUT they should consider neutral language in future products coming out of the pipeline.

Thanks for taking the time to call!

 Subject: [ACC-Circle] Glaxo SmithKline Letters

  Hi Everybody:
I decided that I would call the Vice President for Sales for GlaxoSmithKline to discuss our letters regarding AVODART and it’s “ONLY YOUR DOCTOR” DTC MESSAGE. I left a message yesterday and he called be back today. We had a lengthy conversation and he asked if I could give him the time to follow up on why our letters were not responded to at all.
He called me this afternoon telling me that although he was in Dallas today (not Phila) he found out that their response letters are being written as we speak and an answer would be sent out to all that wrote next week by either the GSK President or the person in charge of their DTC. I think they just may be the first company to actually change their policy because of US!!!!! OR they will tell us that this is the way the FDA says they have to say it (not true) and we will continue to educate and push. Just wanted all to know, I think and actually feel, it may have worked.
 Let’s keep our fingers crossed,
 Dave
