[NPInfo] Target, Walmart and Costco for drugs

Interesting and appreciate the correction. What state are you in? In Northern CA. my few Walmart patients that do have insurance, have Medi-Cal (Medicaid equivalent). I have never had a patient from Walmart that had "real insurance" but maybe I just don't see those patients in the clinic or ER.

 I tell patients if they want insurance go work for Starbucks - who will give it to part-timers, pays decent, promotes readily and will give them a free pound a coffee every week. Ok, a bit biased here since my daughter is Starbucks district manager, but she started with them at age 16 and they have been an excellent employer to her for the past 10 years. I think when I retire I am going to go be a barista :>)

I hate Walmart also, I abhor their business practices, but.......in the interest of fairness and accuracy, I have a number of Walmart and Sams Club employees as my patients and they have excellent BC/BS plans. I have heard more than a couple of patients talk about going to work for them so they can get insurance.
