Re. Costco: If you need an idea on how much a drug costs then check out the
Costco lists at the site below. I then print out the price sheet and give it
to the patient so he can show it to Target or the hated Walmart to get the
same price. This is also very helpful to me, in determining if a patient can
afford the drugs. I know Epocrates also lists a lot of drug prices but it is
often not that accurate.

It is imperative that you remind patients that they do not need a Costco
membership to use the pharmacy - Federal Law. Sometimes the door greeter
"let me see your card" guy scares them away if you don't. In my area, the
door greeters are trained now but it took me a while to get them up to
speed. Again, a nice little flyer works wonders. However, Costco pharmacies
don't have the best hours and are closed on Sundays. Since I work evenings I
really need places like Target who stays open until 9pm.
