[NPInfo] More on $4 drugs and Wal-Mart

Interestingly, after our discussion yesterday, I rechecked a pt last night
who had filled her Hctz. 12.5mg at Wal-Mart. It is on the $4 list for both
Target and Wal-Mart but with an asterisk next to it on the Wal-mart list. 

 

Turns out Wal-mart charged her $9 for it. The pharmacist told her that their
$4 list is not actually $4 but ranges from $4 to $12.  She said she saw a
commercial that says Wal-Mart will match anyones pharmacy prices and the
pharmacist said "that is not really true either -- only if our cost is less
".  

 

Target however, has always been true to their word for my patients. And, no,
I have no vested interest in Target. So, yep, I still hate Wal-Mart!
