Dell does not even produce the Axim anymore.
There where some issues with Vista and Epocretes, but that was resolved.
I prefer my Treo Smart Phone, but Epocretes is coming out with a Blacberry version next month. Pepid is also alternative and yes you can use Pepid with the iPhone too.
