San Diego is now burning from the north, east, and south. I have only heard from one friend who left his home in Ramona yesterday and is staying with his brother near the beach. I have been unable to reach any of my other life-long friends, nor my cousin and 100 yr old grandmother who live in Ramona. This is not only very, very, very bad, it's totally tragic. My NP partner's father and niece are flying up to the Bay area tonight out of San Diego because the air quality in the eastern part of the county wher they live is too horrible for their asthma.

The fires are bad, bad, bad per my daughter who lives in San Diego - Pacific
Beach area. Her offices at Gieco are in one of the areas and they shut them
down for three days so far. She is doing animal rescue today -moving dogs
down toward LA. She does lots of work with Bassett Hounds but today they are
not discriminating. Her Asthma is bad because of the air quality and ash so
I am a bit concerned but she can take care of herself. Her boyfriend is a
firefighter and she has not seen him for 5 days (talked to him though).
