Rose:
The majority of the 70 or more people who work at the AAPA and most of it's
department heads are non medical people. The Executive Director has always
been an association manager type who really are in charge of staff and
building the organization in their likeness. The build the AAPA and not
necessarily the profession. The Presidents and Boards come and go and
the staff remains constant.
They have even been asked to poll the membership (they do a fantastic census
every year- Can tell you what PAs in dermatology for 3 years make in
California, but will not ask about the name change issue among many others.
