I appreciate the comments about the CV. Things have changed in the last year, so it needs to be updated. I have to get it from where it is saved, and then get it re added to website, it is a bit of work. But no I do not have any problem with it being on line. I have seen many MDs who have their CV on line, and for any concerns just dont include the phone or address. I havent worried about it, although maybe I should. I like handing out the business card, which has my web address on it, and so many people have loved it. I love dolphins, and the clinic has a great dolphin photo of 7 dolphins all in a row in a wave in Santa Barbara. To me they are very soothing. I also just contacted Lamm photography, which does both individual human portraits as well as great ones with your pets, to get some better photos. I am FINALLY credentialed as a clinic and as an individual with Medicare, and Care Oregon, and now most of the insurance companies.
Regarding Malpractice insurance, I did finally hear back, and as I am a PC (professional corporation), even though I am by myself, (will have an office person soon), it is 1900.00 per year. (I know Florida, your situation is much worse). But also what was unbelievable, is that I signed up to care for those in the BCEDP which is a government program that allows women who qualify to get free cbe, mammograms and paps...well, before they will credential me, they want 2,000,000 of general liability coverage in addition to the pro-liability coverage I have through NSO.. so now I have to go find another company, such as a car insurance or home insurance company like allstate, and get this. I am not sure what this will cost, but it seemed steep to pay this for that kind of program.
There is the website that has several NPs in practice with their own website listed as well, by Barbara Phillips, I am sure you have heard of it, but it is evolving all the time. It is called www.npbusiness.org Regards, Carla

I was wondering about having the cv online, what with all the concerns about identity theft. All NPs and PAs and docs are required to have a NPI now. I forgot to say I love the dolphin picture, too. I have a dream of swimming with dolphin, hmmm, I should do something about making that dream come true. paula

Couldn't help but notice on your CV that you state you have your Nurse
Provider ID (NPI) number-- NPI actually stands for National Provider
Identifier... the MD I work with has one as well and he is not a nurse .
By the way, I worked for Scripps Memorial for 8 years and Mercy for 1 year
(in the days long before the two merged), my daughter and I went to the
Logan Heights Clinic when she was an infant (on some Medicaid alternative
program they were piloting way back in 1974), I'm a UTMB alum, and did my
bit in correctional nursing as well (in TX).

Carla. I like it but agree that the homepage pic of you is
too grainy. I love the one with the dogs. The colors are very soothing.
It's great to have you on the list. Good luck with the new practice!
Build it, and they will come,

Hi Shelby,
I am still working on getting some better pictures and my hours are
changing as I change part time jobs, but it is a work in progress. I agree,
my biller keeps saying I should not have "holistic" in the paper or on the
website, but to me (even though the public may not know the definition) they
will know how they are treated, and that is what counts..
